SUMMARY:Tobacco Cessation Classes
DESCRIPTION:Smoking leads to disease\, disability\, and harms nearly every organ in the body. Beginning September 6 and September 7\, the Somerset County Health Department will be hosting adult smoking cessation classes at different locations in the county.  \nThe Smoking Cessation Program is a 10-week program to help individuals quit using tobacco products. With the assistance of a certified quit coach\, participants will develop their own personalized plan to help them reach their goals. The program includes 8 weekly core sessions followed by 2 additional support sessions. Participants will be provided with a cessation workbook and will also receive incentives for participating. Vouchers for free nicotine replacement therapy are also available to all participants.  \nThe program will be held in the following locations:  \n\nTuesdays\, 3:00pm – 4:00pm at the Princess Anne Library (11767 Beechwood St.\, Princess Anne\, MD) \nWednesdays\, 11:00am – 12:00pm at the Somerset Wellness and Recovery Center (11674 Somerset Avenue\, Princess Anne\, MD) \nWednesdays\, 3:00pm – 4:00pm at the Crisfield Library (100 Collins St.\, Crisfield\, MD) \n\nEligible participants must be 18 years or older and a current tobacco user. One-on-one virtual or in-person classes are available by appointment.
