ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIRECTOR RETIRES

Westover, Md. – Mike McIntyre, Director of Environmental Health for the Somerset County Health Department retired last month after forty-one years of dedicated state service. He began his career as a sanitarian in Talbot County in 1978, followed by a short time with Worcester County Health Department. In 1989, he came to Somerset County as the Acting Director of the Environmental Health Program and was Director of the Division from 1992 until his recent retirement. 

“Mike was a strong asset to the agency and leaves big shoes to fill” states Health Officer Lori Brewster. “While we will greatly miss him, we wish him well in his retirement.” McIntyre plans to remain in the county and spend more time with his family and hunting and fishing.
