Though all Somerset County Health Department buildings are closed to the public, we are still working to protect our county residents and serve the public. Staff are manning our phones to take calls and answer questions. To comply with Governor Hogan’s Executive Order all group programs, clinic visits and home visits are postponed. 

The Wellness and Recovery Center is closed. Peer Support Specialists are available 24/7 by calling 443-401-3720. 

Spring rabies clinics are postponed.

While the health department does not test for COVID-19, nurses are available to answer all clinical questions. 

We are still helping with Medical Assistance/health insurance/Medicaid assistance.

Environmental Health Services have suspended perc tests and soil evaluations. Well permits will be reviewed on an individual basis. Food establishments license renewals will be granted an extension. Rabies and food borne illnesses will still be investigated.

The Vital Records department is closed. You can still order birth or death certificates on-line at  www.health.maryland.gov/vsa  or by mail at
