CANNABIS RADIO ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN (PROPOSALS DUE DECEMBER 29, 2025, 4:00PM EST)

The Somerset County Health Department (SCHD) is soliciting qualified and experienced local radio stations for quotes to advertise a MDH developed message within vulnerable populations using geo-targeting technology.

The primary goal of this campaign is to promote a cannabis-free lifestyle (specifically targeting adult-use/recreational consumption) and/or to educate consumers 21 and older on cannabis safety.

This funding has been made available through the Cannabis Public Health Fund supported by Maryland Cannabis Prevention and Control.  

Funding in the amount of $7,500.00 will be available until June 15, 2026.

maryland responds tv advertisement campaign (PROPOSALS DUE DECEMBER 30, 2025, 4:00PM EST)

The Somerset County Health Department (SCHD) is announcing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for qualified advertising companies responsible for the development and distribution of compelling television advertisements.  The advertisement campaign will enhance public awareness and participation and promote Somerset County residents to register with the Maryland Responds Medical Reserve Corps: Ready to Respond Programs website.  

The Maryland Responds Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a community-based, civilian, volunteer program that helps build the public health infrastructure and response capabilities of communities in Maryland. Maryland Responds is composed of dedicated Responders who stand ready to volunteer their skills, expertise and time to support ongoing public health initiatives and to assist during emergencies.

Maryland Responds is administered by the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Office of Preparedness and Response (OP&R). The MRC website allows you to register as a responder willing to provide services during a disaster or emergency situation. For more information about the Maryland Responds program, or answers to FAQs visit on the web at mdr.health.maryland.gov.

healthy heart ambassador program implementation (PROPOSALS DUE january 2, 2026, 4:00PM EST)

The Somerset County Health Department (SCHD) is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the implementation of the Healthy Heart Ambassador (HHA) Program within Somerset County. This initiative is made possible through funding received from the Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control specifically for Cardiovascular Prevention Programming.

SCHD seeks proposals from qualified and experienced community organizations that are interested in partnering to execute the HHA Program. This program is a critical component of our strategy to reduce the incidence and prevalence of cardiovascular disease risk factors among Somerset County residents.

One $10,000.00 award is available.
