(Deal Island, MD) As of September 2022, a total of 15 Somerset County residents have experienced a non-fatal opioid overdose, and 3 people have died from an opioid overdose. The Somerset County Health Department is hosting a free resource event for those affected by addiction on November 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Deal Island/Chance Volunteer Fire Company (10090 Deal Island Road, Deal Island, MD).

This event is free and open to the public. Learn about the life-saving resources available near you, receive free Narcan/Naloxone training, share your story in a judgment-free place, connect with others, and help your community. Free meals are also provided.

Let’s work together to break the stigma around addiction and help those affected. For more information on this event or to RSVP, call 443-523-1700. For more information on opioids, visit unmaskaddiction.org. Follow us on Facebook (@unmaskaddiction).
