Westover, Md. –  After serving as Deputy Administrative Health Officer for the Somerset County Health Department since 2019, the Maryland Secretary of Health approved the Somerset County Commissioners nomination of Danielle Weber, MSN, RN as the next health officer of that agency. Ms. Weber succeeds Lori Brewster, MS, APRN/LCADC who has been the dual health officer for both Somerset and Wicomico Health since January 2019.  Mrs. Brewster is retaining her health officer role at Wicomico County Health. 

Ms. Weber earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management from Salisbury University. She has been with the Somerset County Health Department since1995 serving in a variety of nursing and management positions. 

“The residents of Somerset County are very fortunate to have someone of Danielle’s character lead the county’s public health initiatives. Her passion for people, health and her commitment to the community will serve the residents well”, says Brewster.

Commissioners for Somerset County President, Craig N. Mathies, Sr. said “The Commissioners would like to congratulate you and we thank you for your commitment to serving the residents of Somerset County.”

“I am honored and excited to move into this new role and look forward to continuing my service with Somerset County Health Department to promote the health of Somerset County’s residents.”, states Weber.

As Health Officer, Ms. Weber will be responsible for the oversight and management of all county public health programs, assessment, planning and monitoring of services.
